Concession Worker

Location: Puyallup, WA Job Type: Seasonal/Temporary Pay: $14.50 per hour About Us Conifer Specialties, Inc. is a food manufacturing located in Woodinville, WA, producing and distributing consumer packaged products regionally and nationwide through several channels including club, retail, discount, and industrial co-manufacturers. Originally started over 40 years ago to deliver prized concession scones at the Washington State Fair, Conifer primarily produces dry meal and beverage solutions ranging from soup kits to hot cocoa powder. Job Summary This position is responsible for selling products to customers, preparing their orders, operating cash register and processing payments, and maintaining the sanitary standards in the concession area. Work location for this position is Puyallup, WA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sells concessions, including scones, soft drinks and various food items to customers
  • Performs sales transactions in a reasonable and timely fashion, follows standard procedures for cash handling
  • Enters sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded, issues receipts to customers
  • Prepares food items for sale, for example: get dough ready for baking
  • Performs other duties such as stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness of concession area
  • Ensures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements

Logistics Coordinator

Reports to: Logistics and Continuous Development Manager Location: Woodinville, WA Job Type: Full-time About us Conifer Specialties, Inc. is a food manufacturing located in Woodinville, WA, producing and distributing consumer packaged products regionally and nationwide through several channels including club, retail, discount, and industrial co-manufacturers. Originally started over 40 years ago to deliver prized concession scones at the Washington State Fair, Conifer primarily produces dry meal and beverage solutions ranging from soup kits to hot cocoa powder. Job Summary This position is responsible for routing, organizing, and managing orders and freight needs for both inbound and outbound shipments. They will be responsible for connecting with freight carriers (both FTL and LTL) regarding timing of daily/weekly deliveries as well as connecting with the receiving team regarding expectations and space planning surrounding inbound deliveries. Candidate will store and produce freight records for goods in accordance with the company’s food safety and customer service policies. In addition to routine daily dispatching duties, this position may on occasion assist with shipping and receiving operations in the warehouse. Responsibilities
  • Organize inbound and outbound FTL & LTL transportation.
  • Conduct load building, working as a conduit between customer logistics and internal warehouse personnel.
  • Review open sales orders, prepare BOL’s, and route orders according to individual customer routing guides.
  • Coordinate and ensure the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
  • Monitor shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity.
  • Address and resolve outbound/inbound shipment issues including missing or late shipments and RMA’s.
  • Work directly with management on freight quotes and costing, ensuring cost targets are maintained.
  • Daily coordination with warehouse team on material and finished good movement between main warehouse and seasonal surge warehouse.
  • Create ASN’s on SPS and prep orders for all e-commerce sales including transfers of online inventory.
  • Packs, processes, and fulfills all small package and sample shipments.
  • Create outbound shipping labels and pallet tags per order and to customer specifications.
  • Prepare the weeks open orders for shipment, run open orders, create outbound shipping picklists, labels, and pallet tags.
  • Perform various duties attributed to inventory and movement of raw and finished goods in coordination with the Inventory Control Specialist.
  • Specifically allocate shipped finished inventory by lot code and quantity using ERP system as part of sales order processing.
  • Post and communicate the weeks expected outbound shipments as well as the inbound deliveries with the shipping and receiving team.
  • Works with management to ensure order fulfillments are accurate, double checked, and shipped on time.
  • Participates in routine cycle counting related to outbound shipping needs to ensure inventory accuracy.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two to three years of freight/logistical coordinating experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of WMS and familiarity with computers (word, excel, shipping programs, etc.)
  • Prior experience in leading a Shipping and Receiving team preferred.
  • Prior experience with GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) preferred.
  • Understands inventory control, has past-experience dispatching trucks, and the ability to perform cycle counts.
  • Current forklift certification required.
  • Good organization, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Team player and able to work with all departments and personalities.

Quality Assurance Specialist

Reports to: QA Manager Location: Woodinville, WA Job Type: Full-time Shift: Day shift, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM or 4:30AM to 3:00 PM, M-F with occasional Saturdays. Job Summary The QA Specialist must gain and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all products, procedures and policies. The QA Specialist is primarily responsible for overseeing manufacturing, procedural and analytical testing processes as they relate to product quality to ensure quality and food safety standards are met. Responsibilities
  • Perform daily QMS (Quality Management System) checks to ensure operational controls are effective, and recommend improvement needs.
  • Regularly evaluate Quality Standards and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure compliance, accuracy and effectiveness, and recommend improvement needs.
  • Oversee material and product testing programs to ensure compliance, accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Lead monthly internal quality and food safety audits, report on results/trends, and drive corrective actions/improvements.
  • Investigate customer and consumer complaints and recommend/implement improvements.
  • Support development and implementation of new quality and food safety programs.
  • Support preparation for and participate in regulatory audits.
  • Act as a back-up of SQF Practitioner.
  • Oversee the Hold Management process, including isolation, reporting and disposition.
  • Support/drive root cause and CAPA activities and publish progress reports.
  • Monitor analytical test equipment to ensure accurate performance.
  • Gather and analyze quality data for statistical analysis to identify areas of improvement.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide backup support for QA Technicians and QA Manager as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years QA experience in Food Manufacturing Industry.
  • Extensive knowledge in HACCP; HACCP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GFSI (SQF) and Preventative Controls for Human Foods rules.
  • Completion of SQF Practitioner and PCQI courses will be given priority.
  • Knowledge of low acid/acidified food processing will be given preference.
